With the rear seats folded flat, the shelf panel can be adjusted to the same height as the rear seats, extending the flat load floor.
Flip the rear shelf panel up against the upright seatback and you can take advantage of the built-in bag hooks.
Or turn the shelf panel over to expose the non-carpeted side, that when placed on the floor protects the carpet from messy cargo.
The rear shelf panel really shows its fun side when you leave the tailgate open. Pull the shelf out slightly, flip the support prop down and load it up with just about anything. And you don't have to be too gentle with it, as the rear shelf panel can support up to 45kg.
